Kurdistan Network is an independent website based in
Scandinavia. It uses several news sources which
consist of AK,AGI, AP, UPI, AFP,TT, IWPR, Reuters,
ITAR-TASS, KRG etc, this to give necessary and reliable information on issues regarding the Kurds.
Kurdistan Network was set up to unite the Kurdistani networks world wide and has been upgraded yearly to suit its users.
Its contributors are from the Kurdish student and academic organisation in Sweden plus other kurdish intellectuals and they treat several categories such as Kurdish culture, politics, technology, business, sports and cinema.

Some Facts About Kurdistan
Kurdistan (literally meaning "the land of Kurds";
old: Koordistan, Curdistan, Kurdia, also in Kurdish: Kurdewarî) is the name of a geographic and cultural region
in the Middle East, inhabited predominantly by the Kurds.
As a traditional ethnographic region, Kurdistan is generally held to
include the contiguous regions in northern and northeastern Mesopotamia
with large Kurdish populations. From a political standpoint, Iraqi Kurdistan
is the only region which has gained an official recognition as a federal entity.
According to Encyclopædia Britannica, Kurdistan covers about 392,000 km², and its chief towns are Diyarbakır (Amed), Bitlis (Bedlîs) and Van (Wan) in Turkey, Mosul (Mûsil), Arbil (Hewlêr) and Kirkuk (Kerkûk) in Iraq, and Kermanshah (Kirmanşan), Sanandaj (Sine) and Mahabad (Mehabad) in Iran
According to the Encyclopaedia of Islam, Kurdistan covers around
190,000 km² which
is an area as big as France.
Thats
125,000 km²
in Turkey, in Iran, 65,000 km² in Iraq, and 12,000 km² in Syria. Others estimate as many as 40 million Kurds live in Kurdistan, which covers an area as big as France. The Kurdistan Province in Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan are both included in the usual definition of Kurdistan.
Mountains, even to this day, have been important geographical and symbolic figures in Kurdish life,
so that there is a saying that Kurds have no friends but the mountains .
The Mount Judi is the
most important mountain in Kurdish folklore and along with Mount Ararat is one of the mountains that
is thought to be the final resting place of Noah's Ark.
Another important
mauntain is Mount Qendil which the symbol of Kurdish resistace to its occupiers.
Other important mountains of Kurdistan are Zagros Shingar,Shaho, Gabar, etc..
